Why it mattersIntraoperative hypotension is common and linked to adverse outcomes, but RCT evidence on whether maintaining higher MAP targets prevents harm has been sparse. This meta-analysis provides the most comprehensive RCT data to date, suggesting that within the modest blood pressure differences achieved in these trials, higher targets do not reduce mortality or organ injury.
