Vasopressors or Fluids in Early Septic Shock.

The New England journal of medicine·June 11, 2026·PMID 42274006

Why it matters

Septic shock resuscitation often involves large fluid volumes, but excess fluid may cause harm. This trial shows that a restrictive fluid strategy with early vasopressors is safe and reduces pulmonary edema without compromising survival or hospital-free days.
