Cohort Studymoderate evidence

Accelerometer-derived hourly segmentation of daily physical activity frequency and brain health: A prospective cohort study in middle-aged/older adults.

Journal of affective disorders·July 15, 2026·PMID 41780695

Why it matters

This study suggests that not only how much patients move, but how often they move across the day, may relate to brain health. For clinicians counseling older adults, distributing activity throughout the day may be a practical adjunct to standard exercise advice.
