Pulsed Epidural Radiofrequency Versus Epidural Steroid Injection in Patients With Failed Back Syndrome: The EPIPUL Study.

European journal of pain (London, England)·May 1, 2026·PMID 42089123

Why it matters

Failed back surgery syndrome remains difficult to treat, and epidural steroid injections often provide limited benefit. This trial suggests that adding epidural PRF via catheter may improve outcomes across pain and function domains without an obvious safety penalty over 6 months.
