Daridorexant in severe obstructive sleep apnea: Effects on sleep-disordered breathing and sleep.

Sleep·May 22, 2026·PMID 42171662

Why it matters

Many patients with OSA have comorbid sleep maintenance difficulties, yet sedating medications are often avoided due to concerns about worsening respiratory events. This study provides initial evidence that daridorexant, a dual orexin receptor antagonist, does not impair breathing during sleep in severe OSA and may improve sleep continuity.
