Efficacy and Safety of Preemptive Magnesium Sulfate Infusion during Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma Resection: A Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled Trial.

Anesthesiology·February 1, 2026·PMID 41043170

Why it matters

Hemodynamic instability during PPGL resection is common and challenging. This trial provides prospective evidence that a simple, low-cost intervention can meaningfully reduce time outside hemodynamic targets and decrease vasodilator requirements, potentially improving intraoperative management.
