Safety and lipoprotein(a)-lowering effects of Kylo-11, a non-canonical, long-duration small interfering RNA targeting lipoprotein(a): a first-in-human, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase 1 trial.

Why it matters

Elevated lipoprotein(a) is an independent, genetically determined risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and current lipid-lowering therapies have limited effect on Lp(a). Kylo-11 offers a potential long-duration treatment option, with a single dose providing sustained Lp(a) reduction for up to 48 weeks.
