Efficacy and safety of LEVI-04 in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase 2 trial.

Lancet (London, England)·March 28, 2026·PMID 41905364

Why it matters

LEVI-04 represents a novel mechanism targeting neurotrophin-3 inhibition for osteoarthritis pain, distinct from current analgesics, anti-inflammatories, or intra-articular therapies. If efficacy is confirmed in larger trials, it could offer a disease-modifying or symptom-modifying option for patients with inadequate response to existing treatments.
