Sex-specific biological aging clocks across organs and omics.

Why it matters

Biological age estimation is increasingly used in clinical risk stratification and longevity medicine, but most clocks are trained on sex-pooled data, potentially obscuring sex-specific aging trajectories. This paper demonstrates that organ-specific aging liability and its links to cardiometabolic, endocrine, and mental traits are configured differently in females and males, suggesting that sex-stratified clocks may improve precision in predicting disease and mortality.
