Why it matters

This study suggests that a low-dose caffeine–polyphenol coffee cherry extract can acutely improve high-intensity cycling performance, offering a potential ergogenic aid for athletes. The lack of effect on glycogen resynthesis indicates that any performance benefit is likely due to central or metabolic effects during exercise rather than enhanced recovery.
