Why it matters

Testosterone decline is often attributed to aging, but this study shows adiposity is a far stronger determinant. For clinicians evaluating low testosterone, assessing and addressing obesity—especially central adiposity—may be more relevant than age alone, and simple waist circumference measurement can identify men at risk.
