Creatine supplementation and respiratory muscle function in health and disease: translational insights from human to mouse.

Why it matters

Respiratory muscle weakness limits exercise tolerance in aging and disease, yet effective treatments are scarce. This study provides preliminary evidence that creatine may augment the benefits of inspiratory muscle training and improve diaphragm function in heart failure, offering a potential adjunctive strategy for patients with respiratory muscle dysfunction.
