Why it mattersChlorhexidine has been a standard component of VAP prevention bundles, but recent evidence questioned its benefit outside cardiac surgery. This trial provides high-level evidence that routine chlorhexidine adds no incremental benefit in a mixed medical ICU population and may slightly prolong ICU stay.
