Effects of fasting-mimicking diets with low and high protein content on cardiometabolic health and autophagy: A randomized, parallel group study.

Clinical nutrition (Edinburgh, Scotland)·September 1, 2025·PMID 40816210

Why it matters

FMDs are gaining traction for metabolic health and longevity, but optimal macronutrient composition is unclear. This study shows that a higher-protein FMD can confer distinct cardiometabolic and autonomic benefits beyond standard low-protein protocols, suggesting FMDs can be tailored to individual goals.
