Factor XIa Inhibitors for Secondary Prevention After Noncardioembolic Stroke: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Neurology·October 13, 2026·PMID 42748394

Why it matters

Patients with noncardioembolic stroke or TIA remain at risk for recurrence despite antiplatelet therapy. FXIa inhibitors may offer additional protection without the bleeding trade-off seen with other anticoagulants, addressing a key unmet need in secondary stroke prevention.
