Why it matters

Current tissue-engineered skin substitutes lack hair follicles, limiting functional and aesthetic outcomes. This platform addresses the rapid loss of hair-inductive capacity in cultured dermal papilla cells and the challenge of spatially organizing follicular structures, providing a scalable method to incorporate early-stage follicular units into engineered skin using adult human cells.
