Effect of electroencephalography-guided general anesthesia on postoperative delirium : A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Die Anaesthesiologie·August 28, 2026·PMID 42663660

Why it matters

Postoperative delirium is a common and serious complication in surgical patients, and excessive anesthetic depth is a modifiable risk factor. EEG-guided anesthesia offers a practical intraoperative strategy to reduce delirium risk, which may improve recovery and reduce associated morbidity.
